Celebrate spring with the local Green Fair at Waverley Hills

The Green Fair is taking place on Saturday 5 September and will be promoting talented local entrepreneurs, fresh produce and indigenous plants.   

The day will kick start with a 5km fun farm walk to raise funds for CANSA Research. Registration will take place on the day at 9:00 and walk will start at 9:30. Fees for participation are R30 and R10 for children under 12 (adult supervision required).

The fair will open at 10:00 with a focus is on living sustainably, creating awareness of our environment and just having a fun day with friends and family. The market stalls will include handmade ceramics, leather bags, fresh bread, cheeses, fruit and veg, artisan chocolates, fynbos and olive beauty products, mosaic kits, children’s toys, quality wood items, variety of condiments, bonsai trees and indigenous plants.

Waverley Hills will have delicious food and organic wine for all! Creative food dishes will incorporate local indigenous plants with wine pairing for each dish. Fynbos spiced butter chicken with coconut jasmine rice / Caramelized wild rosemary and mustard pulled pork and Asian coleslaw wrap/ Smoked beef burger with wild garlic, caramelized onion and parmesan served with wild sage potato wedges. If you have a sweet tooth try either the Geranium and apple cake/ Wild dagga herbed chocolate cake/ Honey bush and white chocolate cheesecake.  There will also be vegetarian and kiddie food too.

There will be a kids zone with jumping castle, sand art, face painting etc. so that the parents can relax while listening to live music by Bottomless Coffee Band.
