Celebrate Tequila Day at these Cape Town bars

Let’s face it, tequila is a love-it-or-leave-it spirit.  The reason probably stems back to your student days. Remember that night at the Shack? Probably not…

National Tequila Day is every year on the 24th of July. Its origins might be unknown. Could very well be some company decided this was a great way to market their tequila. Whatever the case, true tequila lovers don’t question why they just head out to their favourite bar to celebrate.

To help you in your quest for the best, we thought it best to give a quick list of great places around Cape Town where you should find yourself drinking on National Tequila Day.

Cabrito, which means goat kid in Spanish, is by far the Atlantic Seaboard hippest bar. Apart from the over 50 tequilas on offer, their fridges are also stocked with the latest selection of local craft beers.

Fancy some genuine Mexican fare to enjoy with your tequila? Ask anyone in Cape Town where to go for good Mexican (and tequila) and they’ll say El Burro.

The place to be if you love chilli poppers, jugs of frozen margaritas and tequila, of cause! Do give their home-brewed tequilas a try.
