Celebrate Wine Farms and Sommeliers at this year’s Ultra Mussels Wine Celebration

Come ‘mussel’ in on the fun and show us your ‘muscles’ at the 5th Ultra Mussels Wine Celebration, held in the V&A Waterfront at the lively Den Anker Restaurant. 

This year we’re adding a fun, competitive element to our theme by pairing wine farms and sommeliers, inviting each to show off their skills and passion for wine.

Mark Norrish, General Manager of Ultra Liquors Wine Division, and noted wine expert, has again personally selected twelve producers for this year’s tournament. These are: Saronsberg Cellar, Warwick, Stellenbosch Reserve, Ormonde Vineyards, Meerlust, La Vierge Wines, La Motte Wine Estate, Haute Cabriere, Graham Beck, Ernie Els Wines, Bosman Family Vineyards and Kleine Zalze.

Heading up the team of some of the Cape’s top sommeliers is Pearl Oliver from the One and Only Hotel. Some of the other names to look forward to include Luke Erickson, Minnie Mthombeni and Veronique Boysen.

Tickets cost R290 per person and are available through Webtickets. Each ticket includes 1kg of fresh mussels, a souvenir wine glass, wine tastings and live entertainment. Limited tickets are available. Booking is essential. No under 18’s allowed.

Should the supply of mussels be interrupted by a force of nature we will ensure that a suitable replacement dish is provided on the day of the event.
