Creation has built a proud reputation for producing wines that are remarkably food friendly, but few are as versatile as the Syrah Grenache – a wine we like to describe as a ‘sly chameleon’ thanks to its ability to change personality depending on the occasion!

Celebrity Chef Coco Reinahrz of Sel et Poivre has created many pairings in collaboration with Creation, however when it comes to the Creation Syrah Grenache, one of his firm favourites is the Slow Roasted Lamb Neck and Black Olive Cannelloni. The savoury aspects of the Syrah Grenache echo the umami-laden red wine and olive paste sauce, while the plum fruit and natural freshness on the palate provide a fine counterpoint to the richness of the meat.

In the glass the wine is dark purple in colour, almost black, with flashes of deep crimson. It has alluring aromas of ripe black olive elegantly complemented by whiffs of pepper. On the palate it shows intense flavours of ripe plum, black pepper and umami, while supple tannins and well-integrated, natural acidity contribute to the appeal.
