Civet Crap Choice Coffee – Out the butt and into your cup!

The Civet Cat – who knew its digestive tract could be so culinary? And we don’t mean eating its organs, we mean in how it gives coffee beans a delicious, rare taste. That’s right, this coffee has gone completely through the Civet. Yum!

Civet Crap Choice Coffee is also known as “Kopi Luwak”, and is considered by many to be the world’s finest coffee. Certainly, it’s the most rare – only 500 kg are gathered each year.

Munch, munch, munch, plop, plop, plop – that’s how you get good coffee! And we’re dead serious. If you love coffee and are brave, read on. Prowling the coffee plantations at night, Paradoxurus Hermaphroditis (better known as the Asian Palm Civet Cat, or Steve to his friends) eats only the finest and ripest cherries (the fruit of the coffee plant). Eventually, it poops out the stones (more commonly called “beans”). These are collected and cleaned and eventually become the coffee beans we know and love. YAY. And we choose to call this culinary marvel Civet Crap Choice Coffee.

This coffee is now available at the Haas coffee shop in Cape Town, South Africa.
