Concert Goers Can Now Buy Drinks By Stating Their Name

WillCall is a live music app that recommends concerts and enables seamless in-app purchase of tickets and select merchandise. Now, the platform is rolling out a new feature that tackles arguably the biggest pain point of live music experiences: the bar. BarTab, as the feature has been named, will allow patrons to order drinks simply by telling the bartender their name, eliminating the need to get out a wallet, and hopefully decreasing bar lines.

As a user approaches the bar, a notification will prompt the user to confirm that they would like to open a tab. The patron then simply states his or her name and the bartender finds the appropriate user in their app on an iPad set up at the bar. The drinks are charged to that user’s account, upon which they receive a notification of payment with the option to add a tip.
