Creation Cape Wine Auction Lot raises a cool R260 000!

The Creation Wines team is delighted with the substantial amount of R260 000 generated by their lot at the AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auction held on 14 February at Boschendal.

“The amount exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank everyone who made a contribution to our lot, especially the Johnson family of Bona Dea Private Estate,” said marketing director Carolyn Martin. She also extended her warm appreciation to the generous bidders, adding: “we would also like to congratulate Mike Ratcliffe and his creative team for planning this very well executed event which showcased the South African wine industry in an exceptional way.”

The Cape Wine Auction, now in its second year, has already become a premier event on the South African wine industry’s calendar. No less than 34 wine estates participated this year and the total raised was R10 565 million – an increase of more than R3 million over last year! There are thirteen charities benefiting from the auction including the Pebbles Project, the MAD Charity and the Click Foundation, all focusing on education in the Cape Winelands.

“At Creation we’re proud to contribute to this worthy cause and look forward to participating in the 2016 event,” Carolyn concluded.
