Creation in South African Wine Tasting Championships Finals

The 15 best national tasters issued from the provincial selections held in Johannesburg,

Durban and Cape Town met at the luxurious TAJ Hotel in Cape Town on 13 September to face the challenge of identifying wines from around the world, and to decide who deserves to be the 2015 South African Wine Tasting Champions.

Competitors had two hours to taste blind and identify 12 wines from 8 different countries. To mark points they had to guess the country, the cultivar, the vintage, the appellation and the producer of the wines served to them in anonymous decanters.

The diverse lineup of wines forced the contestants to use their talents and the Creation Sauvignon Blanc 2015 was first up for tasting – chosen for its ability to effortlessly reflect the cooler climate style of Sauvignon Blanc produced in the Hemel-en-Aarde. We wish the SAWTC team the best of luck as they head for France to compete in the international leg.
