Creation launches interactive twitter Sommelier service

True to our motto of ‘consistently building quality through innovation, dedication and communication’ Creation Wines has once again harnessed the power of social media to introduce an innovative new service.

The recently launched Twitter @CreationSomm will answer all your Creation wine pairing questions, as well as tweeting pairing ideas and recipes.

“Good food and good wine are inseparable, and using social media to encourage a culture of food and wine knowledge by interacting with a global audience has always been part of our aim,” says marketing director and co-owner Carolyn Martin. Carolyn is one of the crack team of wine pairing experts who will respond to tweet questions about which Creation wine to drink with what you eat.

The food-friendly nature of Creation’s award-winning wines can be experienced in the Estate’s Tasting Room where an exciting variety of wine and food pairing options are on offer. Having pioneered these unique combinations, Creation has twice won the KLINK Award for Best Food and Wine Pairing at the Cellar Door, as well as Great Wine Capitals’ coveted Best of Wine Tourism Award in the category ‘Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences’.

Creation is a corporate member of the South African Sommelier Association (SASA) which has established itself as an integral part of the food and wine industry in South Africa. The movement was started in 2010 when a group of the same minded individuals got together in the hope of forming an association to help uplift and promote the service of wine in South Africa. SASA is a non-profit organisation and aims to offer its services to local and international sommeliers by being the contact and network portal. It furthermore strives to provide training and mentorships to guarantee the continuous development of professional standards of the highest level and to liaise (or partner) with associations from other countries.

According to Carolyn Creation fully supports SASA’s mission ‘to promote a culture of fine wine, food and service excellence in Southern Africa’. “Our interactive Twitter Sommelier Service will obviously focus on our own wines, but by offering our clients the service we hope to contribute to the promotion of this culture,” Carolyn concludes.
