De Krans Basket Press Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is drinkable and affordable!

With the Winter chill knocking ferociously on our doors it’s the perfect opportunity to sit back and relax in front of a cosy fireplace, with a soul-satisfying glass of red in the one hand and a good book in the other. Alternatively, an evening of comfort food surrounded by great friends are the perfects ingredients to enjoy De Krans’ ‘Basket Press’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.

This red wine is very accessible, due to the use of the unique basket press at De Krans with its very gentle pressing action. It is a lightly wooded red wine that is perfect for all year enjoyment. Winemaker Louis van der Riet used 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, from vines that are trellised and micro irrigated. To ensure perfection in a product, that he would be suitably proud of, the grapes were harvested by hand at the beginning of March and at optimal ripeness. This passion and dedication has resulted in wine which oozes flavours of soft elegant dark fruits, such as plum, mulberries and dark cherries. A beautiful ruby red colour, the supple tannins and notes of cherry cigar, add the perfect touches to a wine enjoyed sip for sip on its own. As a food partner it pairs perfectly with pasta dishes, pizzas and a good old South African braai.

Easy on the pocket, the De Krans ‘Basket Press’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 retails for approximately R65 per bottle and is available nationwide from many liquor outlets, or directly from De Krans Wines.
