De Krans launches its Premium RED Moscato Perlé

Following in the footsteps of their already popular Premium White Moscato Perlé, De Krans Wine Cellar in Calitzdorp has recently launched its brand new Premium Red Moscato Perlé, which will be available in outlets throughout South Africa from early October.

The De Krans Premium White Moscato Perlé, that recently won a gold medal at the 2017 Vitis Vinifera Awards, has already put a twist on traditional wines made from Muscat de Frontignan grapes, while showcasing the complex, spicy and fruit flavours, finishing with fine bubbles – completely transforming the idea of sweet, into a refreshing, perlé white wine with a touch of sugar. With the team at De Krans always priding themselves on their passion for innovation, it seemed only natural to build on the success of the Premium White Moscato Perlé and develop something similar for red wine drinkers.

The 2017 Premium Red Moscato Perlé is a natural sweet red wine, made from predominantly Muscat de Frontignan grapes, blended with a small percentage of our own South African Pinotage grapes, to create the perfect balance in flavour and taste. The result is a beautiful light ruby red colour with fine bubbles. On the nose, fresh tropical fruit flavours of litchi and apricot are in abundance, with pleasing aromas of strawberries and cherries. The wine is fresh with a fizzy taste and a surprising, yet pleasant, exotic spice on the aftertaste.

When to drink this perfect ‘365 days a year’ wine, you might ask? Use it as an aperitif, serve chilled; as an accompaniment with cheeses, red meat and fruit/chocolate desserts, or even ice cream. With an alcohol of only 9.5%, it can even be enjoyed during a brunch with the in-laws, on a picnic lunch date, or enjoying a spectacular South African sunset. And if this Premium Red Moscato is completely new to you, remind yourself that you’ll try everything once, right?

Available directly from the cellar and select retail outlets nationwide the De Krans Premium Red and Premium White Moscato Perlé wines both retail for approximately R55 per bottle.
