Deep fried tequila, salt, and lime shots are what your weekend is missing

What happens when cake and tequila collide?

Magic. In your mouth. It’s cake that you can get drunk on. In case you hadn’t realized.

These delicious looking boozy bites have been created by maverick cook Amy Erickson for her blog Oh Bite it!

And the best part? They are surprisingly really easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • Tequila
  • Store-bought sponge cake
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered Sugar..for dusting

The frosted rim:

Just dip it into some frosting, and into some Lime Zest.

Instructions

  1. Cube up the sponge cake into small squares
  2. Dip it quickly into the tequila
  3. Gently place them into a 350 degree pot of 2″ Oil and fry them up until they’re golden on all sides.
  4. Enjoy!
