Wine of the week: Durbanville Hills Shiraz 2011

Durbanville Hills Winery stand proud on a promontory looking out over the iconic Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Atlantic Ocean, which in itself plays such a major part in the microclimate of the farms up the valley which supply the winery with their superb grapes. Distell has formed a partnership with the 9 leading vineyard owners to promote the string regional individuality of the rolling hills surrounding the winery.

The grapes for the Durbanville Hills Shiraz 2011 come from a selection of vineyards with low yields and planted on deep dark red soils some thirty years ago.
