At Backsberg we have an extensive range of kosher wines available for purchase, from our stellar Kosher Brut MCC to our popular Kiddush Sweet Red.

Therefore, we thought it was about time we created our very own kosher-friendly pairing to complement these unique wines. We joined forces with renowned Sally Williams Fine Foods to bring you an unforgettable tasting experience.

The offering consists of four wines and four Sally Williams’s products at cost of R95.00 per person. Our Kosher Brut MCC is paired with a delectable macadamia nougat, the Pinotage with a milk chocolate enrobed almond nougat, the Merlot with a rose Turkish delight and the Kiddush Sweet Red is perfectly matched with an almond nougat enrobed in dark chocolate.

Sally Williams is a celebrated South African chef, being most well-known for her delectable nougat and tantalising Turkish delight. From early on in her career she embarked on a journey of discovery, to find the secret to creamy, perfect, melt-in-your-mouth nougat. Her foodie journey commenced in the souks of Marrakesh and spread across the globe to the distant shores of Morocco, Tunisia, France and Italy. She spent several years mastering the art of nougat creation with some seriously positive results. Her nougat is now regarded as one of the best in the world.

All of Sally Williams handmade products, the exception being her chocolate slabs, are gluten-free and gelatine free. They are also free from colourants, preservatives and cholesterol. These products have also been certified by the Beth Din of South Africa and the OU of New York, ensuring that we have chosen the perfect partner to complement our kosher wines.
