18 May is International Museum Day and this year you can get involved in a way that is fun and creative and that can even win you a wonderful La Motte experience in the process!

The theme for International Museum Day is Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion. The aim is to celebrate “the diversity of perspectives that make up the communities and personnel of museums, and champion tools for identifying and overcoming bias in what they display and the stories they tell.”Read more. 

Museums can play a constructive role in the engagement of political, social and cultural realities of modern society. This means that museums are relevant and accessible – even in today’s modern and online world. To demonstrate this, everyone is invited to interpret diversity by colouring and enriching this picture. Use your creativity in the use of colours and you are welcome to add elements and accessories to demonstrate various cultures, abilities or disabilities, something that reflects the diversity of our population. 

Send your completed picture to [email protected] and stand a chance to win a guided La Motte Museum experience followed by a wine-paired lunch in Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant for a company of four! Please take part even if you are too far to join us on the estate, if the winner is from a further location, the prize will be in the form of wine to the same value as the museum experience and lunch for four.
