Franschhoek Stands Out Among The Rest at RMB WineX

RMB WineX 2014 celebrated its 15th show in superb style with 10 000 Jozi wine enthusiasts flocking to the three-night show which was held at the Sandton Convention Centre at the end of October.

Franschhoek was well represented at the annual event clinching top honours for Best Red Wine on Show as well as Best White Wine on Show (includes Rosé) which was awarded to Vrede en Lust. Their Boet Erasmust 2011 was awarded first place for Best Red Wine on Show. Other Franschhoek producers who made it on to the Top 10 list for their reds, which the judges felt reflected appreciation for both established classics and lesser-known labels, were Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Solms-Delta Africana 2012 and Vrede en Lust Mocholate 2014.

Vrede en Lust was awarded joint first place for their Jess Rosé 2014 and White Mischief 2013 in the Best White Wine on Show category. Joining them on the Top 10 Best White list were Black Elephant Two Dogs, A Peacock & A Horse Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and Vrede en Lust Viognier 2012.

Well deserved!
