Frasier Is Opening a Brewery in Upstate New York

Actor Kelsey Grammer is opening a brewery in upstate New York. It is not Cheers-themed, it might not have a bar, and there’s no guarantee that anybody there will know your name. However, we remain excited.

Esquire reports that Grammer secured a license recently to set up shop for Faith American Brewing Company in a small town in the Catskills. Grammer broke the news he wanted to open a brewery in 2016, then waxed poetic about its location in Margaretville, New York, during a 2017 segment of Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“That was always my favorite place in the world,” he said. “I used to go there when I was a little boy at Thanksgiving… I always wanted to return this particular place, you know, to a sense of a thriving, kind of community place that would lift everybody up a little bit. So it’s coming.”

Technically, the license, which is under Grammer’s wife Kayte Grammer’s name, is not for a brewery. Instead, it allows Grammer to act as a wholesaler for another brewery’s beer, marketing and selling it. Grammer himself has a pending license for a “summer tavern wine” business a half mile down the road, according to the records.

Nothing’s official yet, but who wouldn’t want to spend a fall day amongst the Catskills drinking beer and wine with Frasier?
