Gold for Boplaas Heritage Muscadel

The Boplaas Heritage Muscadel 2014 received a gold medal at this year’s Muscadel  Challenge.  It originates from 36 year-old Muscat de Frontignan vineyards which yield only 6 tons per hectare and the grapes were hand-picked at 30°B.

The Boplaas Heritage Muscadel was one of only four White Muscadels that received gold medals.

The Nels of Boplaas endeavour to create Muscadel wines brimming with fruity lemon, melon, citrus and fresh fig flavours, with hints of dried apricots and spices, all balanced by luscious sweetness on a lingering palate.  Served well chilled, it is perfect as an aperitif or partner to spicy Indian dishes, heartening Cantonese cuisine, aromatic Thai dishes and traditional Cape fare such as bobotie and rice.

The fine Boplaas Muscadels are available from the winery’s tasting rooms in Calitzdorp and Klein-Brak River (Mossel Bay) and in selected fine wine shops in South Africa.
