Burgundy Adventure, June 2017

Always keen to expand their knowledge and keep track of the latest developments in the world of wine, the Creation team regularly spread their wings to visit inspirational places around the globe. No sooner have owners Jean-Claude and Carolyn Martin returned from their travels through the UK and Europe or Eben Bezuidenhoud and Phillip Marais set off for Burgundy. Eben reports:

Our trip kicked off by visiting some of the lesser known appellations in the south – Pouilly-Loché, Moulin-a-Vent and the greater Mâconnais to name but a few.  The bulk of our time was devoted to understanding the complexity of this area’s great terroirs.  The hospitality and generosity of so many of the region’s renowned winemakers allowed us to taste multiple examples of some of the rarest and most expensive wines in the world.  Anyone that has heard of Burgundy will undoubtedly know the grand names of Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, Echézeaux and Vosne-Romanée.
