Haut Espoir Launches Two New Wines That Are Perfect For Early Summer Drinking

At this year’s Uncorked Festival in Franschhoek, Haut Espoir introduced two new additions to its wine range. With summer right around the corner, there is no better time to open a new bottle of wine – or in this case, two!

First up, a new vintage of Rosé 2017. The wine is made from 100% Shiraz. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 2 months in French oak barrels. Upfront strawberry and red cherry on the nose is accompanied by a spicy finish that lingers in the glass. The wine is full bodied with an expression of fruit and intensity of tannins, but also balanced with crisp acidity and a long finish.

The signature red blend is named after the Elephants who used to roam the Bo Hoek many years ago. Every vintage blend is different, the new 2014 comprises 48% Merlot; 31% Petit Verdot; 21% Cabernet Sauvignon. Warm spices dominate the nose with wild cherries and sweet tobacco flavours. The pallet is vibrant with dark fruit and typical white pepper. A smooth and rich textured palate that lingers. A wine suited for many occasions and foods.
