Hermanuspietersfontein Nr 5 Sauvignon Blanc

Quite often, like we pack away our summer wear, we pack away the white wines till the first signs of spring.

Wrong thing indeed. There are wines that are perfect for winter and perfect for winter food. Such a wine is the Hermanuspietersfontein Nr 5 Sauvignon Blanc. The Hermanuspietersfontein vineyards are situated in the Sondagskloof, a wine appellation which they created in order to give their wines a greater sense of place rather than in the more general Walker Bay appellation.

Bartho Eksteen, the winemaker, is known as Sauvignon Blanc guru and he produces a range of Sauvignons, some blended, some nit and some wooded and some not.
