How Time Flies in Paradise!

Time certainly flies when you’re having fun. We’re already into the third week of 2013 – and where have all the precious hours gone? Well, firstly we’ve been tremendously busy in the cellar, releasing some really superb wines, and secondly we’ve been hosting some very special visitors.

We recently announced the release of our 2012 Chardonnay and 2012 Pinot Noir. Now we take pleasure in introducing our 2011 Merlot, 2011 Bordeaux blend, 2011 Syrah and 2011 Rhône blend – each wine reflecting our ideal maritime terroir. While rave reviews and top ratings testify to the exceptional quality of previous vintages, we’ve asked our cellarmaster JC Martin for his comments on these latest releases.

According to JC the 2011 Merlot is rich and rounded with succulent ripe berry and dark chocolate on the palate. The firm structure is due to judicious oak maturation (20% new wood).

Our beautifully balanced 2011 Bordeaux-style blend comprises 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot. JC describes it as “richly textured, with generous blackberry and blackcurrant against a background of smoky oak”.

The aromatic 2011 Syrah shows maraschino cherry and peppery spice interwoven with whiffs of violet. It is silky smooth on the palate, yet with vibrant minerality to offer exciting complexity.

“Good freshness and elegance” is how JC describes the 2011 Rhône-style blend. It comprises 77% Syrah and 23% Grenache and rewards with intense flavours of ripe plum, black pepper, tapenade and umami – creating exceptional roundness and depth.

But, getting back to our ever welcome visitors: no less than 2 098 guests from all over the world visited our tasting room since the 1st of January! Comments in our visitors’ book range from “Fantastic venue, great staff and outstanding food and wines. Will definitely recommend the farm to our friends in Sweden …” to “Great to be here. We will now enjoy your wines in Holland even more with memories of a beautiful place.”

From the Creation team a hearty thank you to everyone who visited us over the Festive Season. It was great meeting you all and we look forward to your next visit!
