How Two of Lady Gaga’s Favorite Designers Are Getting Into the Wine Business

This fashion season, Lady Gaga–approved Baja East designers John Targon and Scott Studenberg must have been feeling parched. In addition to managing their collection, the pair also decided to enter into the winemaking business, revealing their new collaboration with Winc wines for a bottle named—what else?—Thirsty. Targon and Studenberg’s wine, which they debuted at their post-show party, is a California red blend with notes of violet, cocoa, and cherry, with a label featuring one of their kaleidoscopic prints straight off their Spring 2017 runway.

“We’ve always set out to be a lifestyle brand and this was a no-brainer,” explains Studenberg. And while they are passionate about finding new ways to express the ethos of their brand, Targon says, “this collaboration was an easy extension to Baja East, but we are best at designing clothes and accessories, and that’s what we want to continue to focus on.”

Well, a fashion brand that makes covetable clothes and tasty wine? We’ll cheers to that.
