The Cape Town Nu World Music Festival takes place over the Mandela Day Weekend of the 17th and 18th of July 2015. Cape Town`s City Hall will be transformed into a musical platform with 3 stages and 25 different live acts over the two days.
Expect the unexpected with artists performing music from a variety of continents, cultures and genres. Taking place for the third time, this year the focus is on afro-centric performances. Musical flavours will range from afro-pop, soul, kwaito, electro, afro-beat, hip hop, pop, indie, swing, Balkan, jazz, house, roots, electronic and traditional styles to modern beats. The theme this year is ˜Wild & Wise, displaying concepts of old and new, knowledge and naivety and pairing old muso legends with up-and-coming talent.
The headline acts include Simphiwe Dana, rapper Riky Rick, Austrian beatmaker Dunkelbunt, as well as Congolese singer and musician Kanda Bongo Man. For the full line-up and information go to www.capetownnuworldfestival.com
