Is New York City the best place to drink wine?

The world’s best grapes are poured in the Big Apple.

Forget Napa or Rome, New York ranks as the best city for wine drinkers to unwind.

Leading British wine magazine “World of Fine Wine” ranked 750 restaurants around the world (judges reviewed more than 4,000) with one, two or three stars in wine selection, and New York pours the leading libations with 36 restaurants garnering three stars. London, comes in second ahead of cities such as San Francisco, Chicago, Melbourne and Sydney.

Top honors go to Eleven Madison Park, Pearl & Ash, Daniel, Bar Boulud, Per Se, Bouley, Babbo and Del Posto among others.

Only 224 wine lists were recognized in the three-star category, with New York City’s comprising nearly one-sixth of them.
