It’s time to toast the 28th Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival

Uniquely tailored to showcase the industry’s premier names, this is the most exclusive, longest running wine festival in South Africa.

“Our philosophy has always been to showcase limited quantities of exceptional wines which portray a ‘sense of place’. It is a vitrine of the Cape’s finest cellars – handpicked for their quality and distinction. Most have excelled internationally, which accounts for the success and continued popularity of South Africa’s most coveted annual celebration.”

The industry’s cellar-celebs, bring their latest vintages and special bottles of aged wines and discuss everything from wine evolution to regional differences.

In honour of my induction to the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin in May 2018, the Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival will highlight the grapes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown in Burgundy.

The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin – “Fraternity of Knights of the Wine-Tasting Cup” – is an exclusive bacchanalian fraternity, founded in 1934. The celebrated events are held in the 12th century Château of Clos de Vougeot in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy, France.

Our 18-year sponsorship with Standard Bank confirms their dedication to the wine industry, and our commitment to satisfy palates and stimulate debate. We’ve built our reputation on continuity and a commitment to offer an optimum experience for both winery and taster. This year should be our best yet, as small, select boutique wineries present innovative blends in the old IMAX theatre in Hyde Park.

The Juliet Cullinan Standard Bank Wine Festival is the ideal forum for unsurpassed social interaction between wine aficionados and gifted cellar masters. Life-long friendships are forged. It’s a time to taste, experience and interact with great names, or simply learn how to distinguish a Chenin Blanc from a Chardonnay. And it’s fun!
