Join Durbanville Hills for SA Restaurant Week 2016

Enjoy Restaurant Week South Africa’s first autumn edition at Durbanville Hills Restaurant from 21 April to 1 May. As it was named Best Restaurant in the Winelands in the 2015 Restaurant Week South Africa Awards, you should book your table soonest if you want to share in this special experience.

The restaurant, from where you enjoy panoramic views of Table Mountain, Table Bay and Robben Island, is offering a two-course lunch for R150 or a three-course dinner for R250 during the competition period. Chef Louisa Greeff has selected dishes from her existing menu which she believes reflect the true essence of her establishment. The menus for the two offerings are the same, the only difference being that the dinner menu also includes dessert.

Another reason why you should book early is because the restaurant during the competition period last year also hosted the highest number of diners of all the participating restaurants countrywide.

The main menu for this year’s event offers a starter choice of caramelised tomato and onion tarte Tatin with Gorgonzola mousse and toasted almonds; a homemade beef, chicken liver pâté and brandy sausage with dried-fruit chutney, or a prawn ravioli served with pea purée and smoked salmon. For the main course guests can choose between Moroccan spiced chicken supreme, a seafood risotto with salsa verde, and grilled venison loin served with sweetcorn cake and red-wine jus. To round off the meal, there is a choice of baked vanilla farm yoghurt with rosemary biscuits and berry compote or marble cake served with mascarpone and coconut icing and berry compote.

Lunch will be available from 12h00 daily, while dinner will be served from 18h00. Bookings are open and need to be made on the Restaurant Week site at www.restaurantweek.co.za/lang/en .
