The annual La Capra Goat Run will set off from Fairview on 4 October this year.

The 8km, 15km and 28km routes traverse the slopes and upper areas of Paarl Mountain and promise some rewarding views. The 5km will cater for less serious runners and walkers.

The new distance addition, the 28km La Capra Extreme, will cater for the fast and serious runners. Only 100 runners will be allowed to enter the La Capra Extreme.

Other distances will allow 750 runners in total.

This year’s event will be for the benefit of the Sunflower Fund, an initiative to recruit donors as well as to raise awareness and funds for the South African Bone Marrow Registry in order to help South Africans diagnosed with leukemia and other blood disorders.

A portion of the funds raised by the run will also be donated to Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve in a bid to contribute to the preservation of our beautiful nature heritage.

The Rock and Pearl of Paarl Mountain (the first male and female to reach the top of Paarl Rock) will each win R1000. Wonderful prizes and trophies for winners over all distances will also be up for grabs.

All athletes can look forward to awesome goodie bags and lucky draws. Ample La Capra and Fairview wines, locally brewed beer and great food will be on offer at the finish.
