La Petite Ferme Launches Refurbished Country Chic Vineyard Suites

Franschhoek based luxury boutique hotel and wine estate, La Petite Ferme, has launched their newly refurbished Vineyard Suites and they’re simply, beautiful.

Three months of extensive renovations saw the five Vineyard Suites – which are nestled on the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, with spectacular views over the valley – being completely overhauled.

Prior to the renovations, the Vineyard Suites were Cape Vernacular in both look and feel, with reed ceilings and Cape cottage-style furnishings and décor. Following the renovations, the interiors now boast a far more contemporary, upmarket, modern and on trend look, whilst the exterior of the Vineyard Suites are still Cape Vernacular in style – keeping with the heritage of the wine farm and the area.

Riaan Kruger, General Manager of La Petite Ferme explains that the Vineyard Suites are a favoured destination in Franschhoek because of their phenomenal location and views and the decision was made to refurbish the Suites in response to guest feedback. “Staying relevant, adapting with the times and trends, and responding to our guests’ needs is very important to us at La Petite Ferme.”

From the top down the Vineyard Suites were overhauled. “The suites were basically gutted as part of the renovations, providing a blank canvas for the new look. Amongst the many changes made, we replaced the reeds with modern, crisp white ceilings, the gas fireplaces were replaced with wood burning ones, the flooring was redone, and new state-of-the-art air-conditioning installed.”

The bathrooms in the Vineyard Suites received a complete makeover with top-end, luxury fixtures and fittings, and a feature wall of beautiful handmade patterned tiles now occupies pride of place in each bathroom. This feature wall is carried through and mirrored in the wallpaper in the bedrooms of the suites, and each ties back visually to the name and theme of that particular Suite – the five being the Florentine Suite, Provençale Suite, Africa Suite, Moresque Suite and Léman Suite.

“We also replaced all of the doors and windows in the Vineyard Suites, installing much bigger versions so that we could maximise the astonishing views,” says Kruger. “Guests can lie on their bed, or relax in the bath with a glass of wine, and still enjoy uninterrupted views over the valley.”

All of the Vineyard Suites step out onto their own private terraces with plunge pools. These too were refurbished and now offer guests built in day-beds on which to relax and savour the view. The re-tiled plunge pools, like the new bathrooms, boast hand-made patterned tiles.

Much thought went into the new Vineyard Suites, with all of the renovations, décor and finishings being individually selected and customised for each room. Interior decorator Clinton Savage did the designs for the Vineyard Suites, and the owners and team at La Petite Ferme were involved in every step of the refurbishment process – personally curating the overall look and feel.

“All of the Vineyard Suites offer luxuries and carefully considered conveniences such as underfloor heating in the bathrooms, heated towel rails, Wi-Fi, smart televisions, fireplaces, and air-conditioning,” concludes Kruger.

In addition to accommodation, La Petite Ferme, which produces world-class hand crafted wines, is home to an award-winning restaurant. Situated less than 3 minutes from the village of Franschhoek, and with indisputably the best view of the Franschhoek valley it is easy to see why the Vineyard Suites make a perfect getaway for both summer and winter escapes.
