Lanzerac Wine Estate Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is around the corner, and Lanzerac Wine Estate is throwing its support behind this international health campaign in order to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of the illness.

Throughout the months of September and October Lanzerac will donate R9 to the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) for every bottle of Lanzerac Rosé purchased directly from their Tasting Room, which sells for R49 per bottle.

An iconic wine, which was first released in its famous teardrop bottle in 1959, the Rosé is held in high regard by many generations of Stellenbosch wine-lovers, and lives up to its name with gentle aromatic notes of perfume and rose petals, crushed strawberries and redcurrants. The longest-standing wine in the Lanzerac range, which is still in production to this day, the current vintage is produced from Shiraz and Malbec grapes. It’s delicate pink colour and soft fruit flavours are a result of minimal skin contact. Lively acidity offsets the touch of sweetness in the wine making for an uncomplicated, easy-drinker to suit all manner of food.

The Rosé is the perfect tipple to enjoy chilled during the warmer months of Spring and will pair beautifully with fruit skewers or a watermelon & feta salad. For those preferring a bit of heat the Rosé is the perfect partner with spicy prawns or a Thai Green Curry.

The Rosé is available from the Lanzerac Tasting Room Mondays to Saturdays between 9am and 6pm, and Sundays until 5pm.
