Make my day, pour me a Chardonnay!

In case you haven’t heard, May 23 is National Chardonnay Day.

To the surprise of many, chardonnay is the world’s most widely planted white wine grape and to celebrate this popular varietal we look at 3 affordable and tasty chardonnays, made by one of South Africa’s most iconic wine producers – Van Loveren.

Tangled Tree Chardonnay

In the world of wine, plastic is fast becoming the new fantastic, especially for those who enjoy the occasional picnic or when travelling with wine. Tangled Tree Butterscotch Chardonnay has  appealing aromas of citrus blossom and Turkish delight. The aromas of butterscotch and crème brûlée are balanced by the subtle intensity of the fruit in this Chardonnay.

Van Loveren Chardonnay

With a tantalising creamy scent and bright flavours of tropical fruit and melon with well balanced acidity, this harmonious wine ticks all the drinkability buttons!

Christina van Loveren Chardonnay

Smooth, seamless, harmonious and creamy. This chardonnay has a tantalising bouquet and a well-defined nutty and savoury backbone to balance the delicious, juicy, peach and nectarine fruit. The finish is warm, mouthfilling savoury and the smoky oak is beautifully integrated throughout. Superb value for money at +/- R70!

Enjoy Chardonnay Day and let @spitorswallow and @vanloverenwines know what you are drinking for #ChardDay
