Metro cops loot beer truck

Eight Gauteng metro police officers were caught stealing alcohol which had fallen from an SAB truck on the N12 outside Potchefstroom on Thursday, North West police said.
The South African Press Association reported that the officers, aged between 25 and 39, were found loading “volumes” of liquor into their official vehicles by a senior SAPS officer, spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Lesego Metsi said in a statement.
According to the truck driver the tarpaulin covering the trailer was blown off in transit and pallets of alcohol fell onto the road. The driver called the metro police after other motorists indicated to him he was losing part of his load.
