Napa Valley introduces the Hop Train, a beer-laden journey through California wine country.

It makes sense that Napa Valley has a Wine Train that’s been chugging through California’s hills and vineyards since 1864. But sipping wine while scenic views slip by isn’t everyone’s thing. Beer, however—beer is more intriguing.

The Napa Valley Wine Train is introducing the Hop Train, a beer-laden journey on the tracks through California wine country. The trip is hosted by local craft brewery Napa Palisades Beer Company, whose beers include 1849 Gold Rush Red, Loco IPA, and Little Loco Session IPA. You’ll be drinking those along with chowing down on bar bites as the train chugs along. Feel free to marvel at the 360 degree views from the Open Air car, where you’ll be seated, or just bury your face in the beer.

The trip starts in the evening and lasts over two hours, with tickets starting at $75 each ($50 for locals). The Hop Train’s first trip is June 18. It’s time to do wine country right—with full, frothy glasses of cold American beer.
