Tequila lovers in Joburg rejoice! Last week, J. Rabbit Tequileria opened its doors in Illovo, taking over the space formerly occupied by Griffin Bar.

The new bar is located inside a laundromat and is said to boost one of the largest selections of tequila in South Africa.

J. Rabbit Tequileria is the brainchild of Brigitte Labuschagne and business partner Paul Lycos, who opened Septimo Italian Restaurant in Nelson Mandela Square.

The bar is named after Jessica Rabbit from the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Apart from the large tequila and mezcal selection, the bar menu also offers cocktails, designed by Julian Short, who won the title of 2017 Diageo World Class Bartender of the Year. George Clooney’s tequila is also on the list.

J. Rabbit Tequileria is open Wednesdays to Saturdays from 12pm till late and on Sundays from 12pm to 8pm.
