Novare SA Terroir Wine Award for Benguela Cove

Following the success of the maiden release 2017 vintage, the recently released Benguela Cove Catalina Sémillon 2018 is following in the tracks of its predecessor.

The 2018 showed promise as a youngster at the 2018 SA National Young Wine Show when it was awarded best wooded Semillon in South Africa. Still in its infancy, the wine also caught the attention of Platter’s who awarded it with 4.5 stars; more recently Tim Atkin rated it with a near perfect 94 points.

Fast forward two years from 2018, it has now been crowned the best in its class at the Terroir awards, coming out on top! True to its promise of being an age-worthy white wine that will improve and gain complexity in the bottle over the years, produced in limited quantities from a single vineyard, it is all out on allocation already. We have however kept a few cases aside for visitors to the Benguela Cove farm, its wine club members and the connoisseur seeking an exquisite collectable.
