Oakland-based company introduces Cannabis-infused tea

It’s time for tea—high tea, that is.

As cannabis increasingly wafts into the mainstream, we’re finding THC and CBD infusing many of our favourite snacks and drinks. It was only a matter of time before tea caught the buzz. Ideal for low-key days and cozy evenings on the couch or in the tub, here are a few of our favourite local brews (and infusion ideas) to elevate tea time.

Hint: Wait at least 15 minutes for the teas to take effect. For added sweetness and a bit more buzz, try spooning in a teaspoon Honey Bee’s cannabis-infused honey.

Skyline Boulevard

Fancy a cannabis-infused rooibos? Or, perhaps, a peppermint hash tea for a fresh start to the day? Oakland-based Skyline Boulevard has plenty of options that will breathe life into your everyday tea collection.

Each tea blend is made with lab-tested and Bay Area–grown hybrid kief (the resin glands of the cannabis plant that contain the terpenes and cannabinoids that make each strain so unique). Each single-use tea bag has up to 30 milligrams of THC, but kief being fat-soluble, you can tweak the potency of your cup by adding fat-free milk for a lower dose or full-fat milk or cream for a heartier cup. Steep each bag as you normally would: three minutes for an eight-ounce cup of green or oolong tea; one to two minutes for chamomile, passion fruit, and other herbal blends.
