Party Sober At The Mardi Gras With A Hurricane Mocktail In Hand

Sit back and relax while sipping on this hurricane mocktail, and you’ll feel like you’re in New Orleans.  It’s a sweet fruity tropical drink that is as much fun to make as it is to drink.

The traditional hurricane drink is credited to Pat O’Brien in New Orleans, who invented it during WWII.  He wanted to do a twist on a daiquiri to use up surplus ingredients, and he even gave the drink away to his younger patrons!  It eventually caught on and now has become very popular, especially during Mardi Gras.

If you plan on doing Mardi Gras sober, look out for the people that make up the Avenues Family. They are changing the landscape, one Hurricane Mocktail at a time.
