Platinum and Gold unlocked at Waverley Hills

Earlier this year Waverley Hills maintained the high standards of achieving top awards for its premium quality, organically certified wines.

First came as a Gold medal for the Waverley Hills CW Reserve Shiraz 2016 from Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge in France.  The Gilbert & Gaillard wine guide and magazine began in 1991. The publication is key an internationally focused wine guide and has been highly respected in France and all over the wine world for more than two decades.

Shortly after that no fewer than 5 wines achieved Platinum status from South African Wine IndexSAWi uses a certain mathematical algorithm to rate and award the wines chosen by them. If a wine score consistently over a period of 10 years in different wine competitions, it becomes eligible to be rated and awarded by SA Wine Index.  It is drawn from the outcome of blind tasting results of South African wines world-wide.

The wines from Waverley Hills to have scored 95+ to achieve Platinum status were. Shiraz, SMV Shiraz/Mourvedre/Viognier, CW Reserve Shiraz, Grenache and De Huijsbosch Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet franc/Merlot.

Another proud achievement for the vineyard and winemaking team, under the leadership of Cellar Master Johan Delport.
