DGB Donates Executives’ Pay-Cut to Solidarity Fund for Fighting Covid-19

Following the announcement by South African liquor company DGB (Pty) Ltd that its executive management team had agreed to a 25% reduction in salary for three months, DGB today said the accrued monies from this pay-cut will be donated to the Solidarity Fund set-up by Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa to fight Covid-19. The Solidarity Fund was announced by Pres. Ramaphosa on 22 March, urging South African businesses, organisations and individuals, and members of the international community to contribute towards the country’s efforts to combat the spread of the virus. The Fund will also aid in tracking the spread and, care for those who are ill. It will also support those whose lives are disrupted.
