R7 million raised for education in the winelands

On Saturday, 15 March the 2014 AfrAsia Bank Cape Wine Auctionraised R7 045 million for education in the Cape Winelands. The charities benefiting from this event are the Pebbles Project, the MAD Charity and the Click Foundation.The La Motte and Francois Pienaar lot on auction consisted of:

  • an exclusive Shiraz tasting with La Motte Cellarmaster and Chaiman of the SA Shiraz Association, Edmund Terblanche
  • a Chef’s Table Dinner experience at Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant for six, with myself and ex-Springbok rugby captain, Francois Pienaar
  • six 1.5-litre bottles of limited release signature Hanneli R wines
  • 52 x 6 wines from La Motte’s Pierneef Collection – a case of wine for every week of the year!

The lot was awarded to regarded businessman Mr. Moya Nape for his winning bid of R300 000. Click here for the complete auction results.
