Fairview Harvest 2014

We have enjoyed a bountiful harvest this year, with a bigger crop on our Swartland dryland vineyards (largely due to the rainfall) and our Stellenbosch and Paarl farms yielding on a par with last year’s harvest, which was already above average.

The white wines are showing exciting tropical notes and a good intensity of flavour (thanks in part to the long, drawn-out ripening season).  Although extra rainfall usually means diluted grapes, we were lucky this year as we were simply blessed with more well concentrated grapes.

Although it is still early days for the reds, they are already coming to the fore with good colour and structure.  Our early samples offer generous fruit on the palate, and are softer and more approachable than before.

Overall it was a promising harvest, and we are looking forward to sharing the fruits of our love and labour with you.
