Trimbach Riesling charms with its dry, steely, classical elegance…

Riesling

The Trimbach wines represent traditional and dry Alsace white wines that are made from grapes grown in Ribeauvillé and surrounds.  Although Trimbach produces various white wines like Sylvaner, Pinot blanc and Gewürtstraminer, it is the Riesling that has captured the palates of many Riesling lovers as one of the most classical Alsace examples of this grape – Clos Sainte Hune is possibly the single most enjoyed dry Riesling in the world.

The Trimbach Family’s viticultural origin dates back to 1626. Almost four centuries later, the family vineyard is led by Hubert Trimbach, nephews Jean and Pierre, and his daughter Anne, the eldest of the 13th generation. Although 2011 was a warmer vintage, the wines from this harvest have retained their unparalled freshness. The 2010 vintage however has produced wines with greater longevity as Jancis Robinson states in her recent article on Trimbach 2011& 2010 Riesling:

‘I loved the 2010s of these two wines too and the 2010 vintage in Alsace is likely to have produced longer-living wines with a bit more extract than the 2011s, so do pounce on Trimbach Riesling 2010 Alsace and Trimbach Réserve Riesling 2010 Alsace if you can find them too.’ Click here to read the full article.
