Food, beer and wine lovers rejoice! One of Durban’s top culinary events is finally around the corner and promises to be the ultimate foodie experience of the year. Be sure to put a reminder in your diary for the weekend of the 24 – 26 October as the Good Food and Wine Show will be bringing foodies under one roof at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
The event promises three days of innovation, inspiration and pure deliciousness as it will be serving up local and home-grown goodness, as well as uncovering the latest trends, products – and lets not forget the list of Celebrity Chefs who will be attending to share their pearls of wisdom with you!   The Ultimate Foodie Experience The line-up for the Celebrity Chef Theatre is one that will definitely impress you as they have Food Network Chef, Siba Mtongana from the show Siba’s Table; India’s best known chef, author, and TV personality Sanjeev Kapoor; Cake Boss’s right hand man, Mauro Castano; Food Network’s Spice Prince, Reza Mahammad; Food Network Host and Chef, The Giggling Gourmet, Jenny Morris; and Australian Masterchef favourite, Hayden Quinn! After each Chef’s demo you’ll also be able to attend the Celebrity Book Signing and get your recipe book personalised by one of these masters.

From the Sweet Treats Theatre in association with Selati and Clover which will be keeping the kids entertained with some baking fun; to a few of the Shongweni Farmers Market stallholders tempting you with a range of their delicious home-grown goodies, the Good Food and Wine Show promises a lot of fun for the whole family!   Another fun aspect being brought to this year’s show is the “Inside Scoop” with SABC 3. Various SABC 3 personalities from Isidingo, Expresso and Top Billing; as well as all local and international celebrity chefs will be put in the hot seat and have their moment to shine as they are put through their paces and asked for their pearls of wisdom during their individual interviews.
Be sure to also stop at the “Selfie Photo Booth”and take a picture with one of the celebrity chefs or media personalties!   Last, but certainly not least – it’s all about the food! Be sure to go hungry as you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to selecting delicious tasters from the very best of Durban’s flagship restaurants that will be present at this year’s GFWS! You will also be able to enjoy a wide range of Summer sun cocktails at the Mix Masters 360 degree bar; a fine selection of boutique wines at The Wine Avenue; and a large craft beer showcase which will be on top at The Beer Route! Visitors will also receive a free pack of wine tasting coupons with their R30 wine glass purchase.

For those looking forward to the food demos; Masterchef personality, Hayden Quinn will be guest appearing, along with a variety of nutritional specialists, at the Extreme Nutritional Theatre to help you get your healthy food fix. Jenny Morris will also be hosting the ‘Romancing the Stove’workshop presented by Spekko, and will be taking couples through some fun cooking classes and teaching them a few saucy ways to cook and tantalise the senses…
