Richard Kershaw presents a Chardonnay & Syrah Masterclass

‘Our commitment is to make the best wines possible from the vine clones best suited to our unique terroir.’
Master of Wine (MW) and award-winning Elgin based winemaker, Richard Kershaw, will be presenting a Chardonnay and Syrah Masterclass with us in Johannesburg on Tuesday night the 25th of November from 18h30 to 20h00. Formerly with Kanu and Mulderbosch, British-born Richard has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all matters vinous and this promises to be a really serious tasting. His wines are refined and elegant, often described as ethereal.
One of the most unique approaches to winemaking in the Cape sees Richard focus on clonal selection to make both his Chardonnay and Syrah. He believes each brings something special to the final blend and the grapes are meticulously sourced from small parcels. We’ll be tasting his maiden release and Platter five star Kershaw Chardonnay 2012 amongst the line-up, which will feature a rare opportunity to taste the clonal selections individually and some benchmark Burgundy and Australian wines. We’ll be tasting 14 wines over the insightful evening which promises to be a highly ‘scentual’ affair.
Tickets cost R250, maximum 15 guests. Please email [email protected] or book your ticket online.
