Visitors will spot the game to which Groote Post is home, namely: Eland, Kudu, Gemsbok, Bontebok, Springbok, Red Hartebeest, Ostrich, Black Wildebeest as well as Quaggas. For those more inclined towards flora than fauna, one will appreciate the farm’s conservation of the highly threatened renosterveld that makes up 4.75% of South Africa’s total area under this vegetation. The tour continues through the Groote Post vineyards – including a breath-taking view of Table Mountain from the top vineyard – and, of course, to complement the experience, a glass of wine (and other refreshments) is a pre-requisite as you soak up the glory of nature.Game drives Monday to Sunday starting at 10h00Bookings must be made 48 hours in advanceCost: R130 per adult and R70 for children under 12Minimum number 6 and maximum number 10 peopleGroote PostOnly an hour’s drive from Cape Town, the historic Groote Post farm, owned by the Pentz family and situated in the Darling Hills, presents a rustic and rural atmosphere with undulating hills, vast open spaces and warm country hospitality.
