Barefoot Bella’s Feast…

Well known for loaded long-tables, long lingering lunches on the deck of her Langebaan home on the dunes, Bella is turning her hand to cooking up a storm in the barrel cellar! Her philosophy? Come hungry…Barefoot Bella’s Feast…Nibbles on arrival served with Nr 5 Sauvignon Blanc: Bella’s own home marinated olives. Flame-grilled sausage hotpot with fresh rosemary and homemade mustard sauce.Parmesan tartlets topped with roasted tomato and pesto.Sêvirjou Ma daar’s fishcakes!Blinis,with a mushroom topping.A sip-glass chilled soup.Starters served with Die Bartho:Fresh Weskus mussels in cream sauce, served with home baked bread. Followed by a green salad of poached pear, grilled tomato, roasted seeds and Gruyere shavings.Mains served with Kleinboet: Slow baked lamb shanks – overnight in red wine, celery, carrots, thyme and mint. Served on Granny style samp. On the side: green beans, exotic mushrooms, roasted almonds, small carrots with thyme and orange zest in white wine, fresh asparagus drizzled with hollandaise.Desert served with Stilletjies: Bella’s Aunt’s malva pudding, with a hiccup of brandy sauce, homemade ice cream and chocolate tart with crème fraiche.
