 
In a city that almost makes you sign an agreement to eat sushi at least twice a month it’s a joy to find a place that brings a little bit of sparkle and spice to this slight obsession. SushiBox began in March 2012 and now comfortably sits on the throne as the go-to sushi establishment in Newlands & Woodstock with it’s Constantia pop-up branch slowly but surely making a name for itself.
We visited SushiBox in Newlands where the setting is a honest reflection of this establishments approach to sushi soaked in innovation, freshness and delicious. SushiBox is the playground of some of the city’s more talented sushi chefs, led by the celebrated Head Chef, Terry Zhou. Established by Christo Bornman it was this Newlands branch that started the team’s Southern Suburbs takeover.
It’s outdoor vertical herb garden makes this urban watering hole a portal into a place where socially conscious eating meets stylish living. It’s menu is affordable and diverse and we strongly recommend indulging in one of their platters which are conveniently available to order for takeaway if you are looking to host hassle free.
