Driving past, you may not notice this store but if you are walking by you may glimpse in and discover a simple, charming sidewalk café. A character filled spot ahead of the trend on Loop Street.

The food at this luxury café is imaginatively and generously severed, plus it’s really tasty. The atmosphere is clean and elegant with wooden, almost school like chairs to compliment the crisp colour scheme.

Expect a visually pleasing slice of Cape Town’s city bowl that plays home to some of the city’s edgiest art; from an exhibition of a selection of the instagramed adventurous moments around the cape to a captivating selection of photographic prints by Adrian De Sa Garces.

 

All produce on the menu is locally sourced. You can choose from a choice of healthy breakfasts and lunches and if you enjoy sitting and people watching why not settle into a spot near the window with a nice steaming cup of coffee.

Twin sisters, Jesse and Jamie Friedberg, are the creators and owners of the Skinny Legs and All luxury café. An excellent idea that came to them when they were 21-years-old, four years ago. In April 2011, when a space became available in Loop they saw it as the perfect opportunity to open their own little café and that’s exactly what they did.

Both Jesse and Jamie were students at UCT but found their lectures to be suffocating. They decided they wanted to try something different with their lives and partnered with João Ferreira.

Where you’ll find Skinny Legs today is where you would have found the former João Ferreira Gallery, you can still find some of his work on display on the walls of the Café.
