Being situated at the bottom of Cape Town’s tallest building do have it’s perks. Since Borage Bistro opened it’s doors in the Portside Building this year, a steady stream of FNB suits descent on the eatery for their daily lunch munch.
Head chef Frank Marks, who also worked under Dale-Roberts as well as Blumenthal, created an authentic bistro style menu with a solid focus on good quality produce.
We had the fish and the gyro for lunch.
The Wifi
Decent un-metered wifi. You will however need to ask the staff for the password.
The Booze
With a bit of winter sun on our backs, we ordered a Leopold7 beer. Robust, but tasty and better balance than most on the South African craft scene. The wine list is flexible enough to support anything from a boozy lunch to a romantic dinner.
