Fuller Smith and Turner visits Riebeek From England

Fuller Smith & Turner, suppliers of over 700 pubs and also our biggest UK client, honoured us with a visit from 6 to 9 July 2015. The purpose of their visit was for Mr Mark Dally (retiring Head of Wine Purchasing) and Mr Neil Bruce (new Head of Wine Purchasing) to meet the Riebeek team and to see who we are, what we do and what makes us special.

They were with us for four days where everyone in the Riebeek family stepped in to make their stay memorable.
We started at home with a classic wine tasting and cellar tour. Then we gave them an overview of our Sales and Marketing history – eight years to date!! We spoiled them with visits to some of our producers’ farms so that they can get to see every aspect of our wine making process. We went to Vlakenheuwel with Boet Le Roux where they fell in love with the Quagga project! We went to the Partnership vineyards with Celeste Domingo and Jan-Paul. We took them to the beautiful Klovenburg and also went to see Knolfontein with Danie and Pieter Du Toit. To finish the day off in proper Riebeek style, Wilhelm Relihan took us all for Sunset drinks.

What’s a South African visit without a braai!? So we decided to host a proper braai at Shiraz guesthouse with the extended Riebeek family so that our English guests can meet and greet all of us. Finally we took them on a trip up the west coast to go and see the jewels of the Western Cape: Tieties Baai, Paternoster, Langebaan and Kraal Bay.

This visit was a great way to strengthen our relationship with Fullers and we are confident of renewed energy and focus on Riebeek Cellars wine through Fullers in the UK.
